Synthetic fibers have been badly hit by the world economic recession, but to some surprise less severely on a world level than had been feared, due to the remarkable resilience of the market in China. In fact the recession has accelerated the migration of textile industries and with them fiber production from industrialized countries to Asia, especially China.
